A leaking dishwasher led to hidden subfloor damage on this project. After a section of flooring had already been lifted, the focus shifted to fixing the structure properly instead of patching over the problem.

The damaged subfloor was removed and repaired, then the remaining flooring was carefully lifted and re-installed correctly so it could be reused, saving the homeowners from a full floor replacement while still addressing the issue the right way.

This is the difference between covering up a problem and fixing it.

Custom cedar outdoor bench out of the shop this week.

Slatted seat and back with a comfortable laid-back angle, wide armrests that actually give you a place to rest your arms, and all the edges cleaned up with the router so it feels good to the touch. Fasteners are hidden so you see clean lines and cedar, not screw heads.

Finished in a natural exterior stain to protect it from the weather while keeping that warm cedar colour and grain.
