Behind Your Glam

Hello everyone!

I thought it was about time I re-introduce myself. I am the face behind BEHIND YOUR GLAM. I am Kiran (pronounced keeren… not Karen LOL)

I am a Makeup & Hair Artist based in the Kitchener Waterloo Cambridge area.

As long as I can remember, I have loved all things beauty and glam. Whether it was dressing up for special occasions or making sure my eyeliner was always sharp AF.

I officially got certified in makeup & hair back in 2019 from . It was an intense week but DEFINITELY worth it. Taking this course grew my confidence in my artistry tremendously and helped me come out of my shell. I also graduated from college studying Business Administration (HR), which I did not end up pursuing. I mean can you imagine me in a cubicle??? I ended up going to college because that’s what was expected and I felt like it was what I HAD to do. Ironically, I had no idea that I would be running my own business one day…so here we are.

I have been working in the beauty industry since 2019, which is almost 6 years ago now. (WILD RIGHT?) After I had my son in 2021, I decided I wanted to really focus on freelancing full time. So 2022 was my first year working a full wedding season with back to back weddings each weekend and we haven’t really stopped since. I am so grateful for the flexibility this path provides for me with my two kids at home now. I’m able to spend lots of time with them and then work 1-2 days a week outside the home. I couldn’t be happier of how everything has just fell into place and I am able to balance (best as I can) motherhood and freelancing.
