🥦🍗🥑 A new food pyramid just dropped… and it’s upside down?!
Wait… what? 🤯
For over 30 years, we were told to build our plates starting with grains at the base.
Now this version flips the script and says:
➡️ Real food first
➡️ Protein, healthy fats & dairy as foundations
➡️ Vegetables & fruits front and center
➡️ Whole grains still included — just not dominating every meal
So…
❓ Are we saying nutrition guidance was backwards all this time?
❓ Or is this just a new perspective that better reflects how our bodies actually function today?
Here’s what hasn’t changed 👇
✔️ Whole foods win
✔️ Balance matters
✔️ Quality > quantity
✔️ No single food is the enemy
What has changed is the priority order: We’re finally talking about satiety, blood sugar, hormones, energy, and protein needs — not just calories and carbs.
Personally, I don’t believe in “one perfect pyramid.”
I believe in real food, personalized nutrition, and sustainable habits that fit your life (and yes… your kids, work, stress, and hormones too).
