May was Better Speech and Hearing Month, and it got us thinking about one of the most common things parents tell us when they first reach out: "Everyone just told me to wait and see."

So we made something!

"My toddler isn't talking yet... now what?" is a free guide for parents who are in that in-between space. The one where something feels off but you're not sure what to do next or you're sitting on a waitlist.

This guide covers what late talking actually means, what to watch for, and some things you can do right now at home.

A few things worth saying out loud:
This guide does not replace a speech-language assessment. It doesn't replace therapy. If you have real concerns about your child's communication, please reach out to an SLP, behaviour analyst, your doctor, or paediatrician. What this guide does is help you feel less lost while you figure out your next step.

Hi, we’re Brittany and Shawna. An SLP and a BCBA who are genuinely better together.

We started elemenoe because we wanted to build something where speech and behaviour weren’t siloed, where families were partners in the process, and where the work was actually connected.

We believe that when we know better, we do better. We’re always learning, always questioning old approaches, and we’re not interested in fixing kids. We’re interested in bringing the joy, because that’s where learning begins. Therapy should feel like something a child would choose. We respect how every child communicates, and we take seriously their right to say no.

What we do: direct clinical services for kids and families, parent courses (including our Let’s Get Talking series), and our podcast Neurodiversally Speaking where we talk openly about the things families are actually navigating.

If your child communicates differently, has big emotions, is a complicated eater, or you’ve been told to ‘wait and see’ one too many times, you’re in the right place.

Two clinicians who love this work and the families doing it.

We’re really glad you found us.

Communication doesn’t develop all at once, it builds over time through everyday moments, play, and connection. ❤

If something’s been on your mind or you’re wondering whether your child is on track, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Have questions? We offer free consults and genuinely love meeting with families 🤍
