WHEN IS COMPOUNDING USED?

Compounding can always appear in your clinical practice even if you do not end up working in a compounding pharmacy. This field of pharmacy is unique because pharmacists and the pharmacy team create custom drug formulations to meet specific needs of the patient that cannot be met otherwise.

It is important to familiar with the situations when compounding can be utilized to treat medical conditions and increase patient-centered care.

As the name of the club suggests, the UW Compounding club will cover a variety of content and events on the application of compounding in clinical practice! Our goal is to educate both pharmacy students and health care professionals on various compounding topics, including different drug formulations and commonly used formulas for the treatment of acute & chronic conditions.
