From Old to Gold

I've been participating in a knitting/crocheting group in my church since last April. We make baptismal baby blankets, and prayer shawls. Here are two I made from all the left over yarn accumulation. Which looks better to you? N.B. - it's hard to make all the edges straight with a number of different yarns.
