Honoured to have worked with Zeba and her team on periodpain.ca 💛
For generations, women have been told to live with period pain. But pain that disrupts daily life is not normal and it should not be dismissed.
"More funding means more support for young women experiencing period pain."
Zeba Khan, Women’s Health Research Institute member, UBC PhD student
PeriodPain.ca is one example of research in action. This digital tool – which was co-designed by youth with lived experience of period pain, along with medical professionals at the Women’s Health Research Institute and the University of British Columbia – is helping young people understand what’s normal, what’s not, and when to seek care. When we invest in women’s health research, we change lives.
March is Women’s Health Research Month. With your support, BC Women’s Health Foundation is funding research that leads to better answers, better care and real change. Your donation will have an impact.

August has been a thoughtful month of annual reviews and reports on wrapped projects. Looking back to May, Sarah had the incredible experience of being part of a panel at UBC in the Bridging Research and Action conference and sharing the power of art in healthcare. Mass Velocity helped launch The EndoPhoto Campaign with Pelvicpainendo https://pelvicpainendo.ca/photovoice-endophoto/
These powerful photos of those who have lived experience with endometriosis resonated with those in the community and beyond. It was an honour to share these experiences not only through the campaign but also with other healthcare professionals who could potentially use art with their own healthcare initiatives.

We support their right to be loved, encouraged, and celebrated.
We support their right to safe homes and bright futures.
