✌🏼☀️ Sometimes the best way to recharge is to unplug. If you know me IRL there might be a trickle of activity on my private page (and there might not 🤷🏻‍♀️). I have books to read, walks to take, snax to eat + yoga to do. XO

Every holiday is just another reason to draw on something new around here.

I haven't posted about this beautiful day because there aren't good enough words.

So a piece of my speech to my eldest son on his wedding day to hold this space:

I was a very, very young mom. When i was your current age, i had an 8 year old.
I felt I had a lot to prove; that it wasn't a mistake, or going to ruin my life, or that i couldn't give a child a beautiful life.

I was more chilled out by the time I had your brothers, but you, you lit the fire in my belly.

You were flashcards, homemade cupcakes, and hand-sewn Halloween costumes. You were no screens, no sugar, and 14 bed time stories, and love… and love, and love, and love, and LOVE.

I’ve been in love, with your dad for 30 years, but YOU, sweet boy, you taught me the full capacity of my heart.

You grew up seeing a note, always on my desk, that read “Fortune favours the brave.”

The greatest risk you’ll ever take though, and the one that offers the greatest reward, is TO LOVE.

So to watch you, at 27, already finding your person, already willing to throw your whole heart into the fire… well, that’s all the evidence I need that you’re brave in the most important way.

If you keep stepping into love with your face to the sun, sweet boy, your life will be spectacular........
