Longtime, pun-loving movie critic Gene Shalit dead at age 100 | CBC News Pun-spouting ​movie critic Gene Shalit, a fixture on NBC's Today show for decades in his bow ties and extravagantly bushy hair and moustache, died on Friday at the age of 100, NBC News reported, citing a family statement shared with the network.

Just saw a matinee of the new Spielberg film "Disclosure Day" - I thought it was fantastic, like "Close Encounters" mixed with a 70s conspiracy thriller.

Part of my enjoyment was, I'm sure, due to avoiding ALL pre release hype and interviews. I didn't even watch the trailer! Spielberg + aliens was enough for me.

We are bombarded with pre-release hype for everything with trailers, cast interviews, YouTube features, etc.
It's all TOO MUCH!
Going into a movie "cold" is a wonderful experience, like cracking open an unknown book from your favourite author.

I'd give the film an 8 out of 10...your mileage may vary...but I recommend it!

Something I am very much looking forward to.
