Whats an anode rod? An anode rod protects a hot water tank from rusting out by sacrificing itself to corrode first, a process known as cathodic protection.

Because the rod is made of a more active metal than the steel tank, the corrosive elements in the water attack it instead of the tank lining.

Without proper maintenance these rods can absorb, causing the unit to fail and potentially flood the home like the one seen in this image.

Our media team is currently in the editing room putting the finishing touches on a must-watch video featuring our Plumbing Manager, Cory.

Here is a quick sneak peek of what’s to come:

The Crime Scene: Cory takes you out to the RedBlue headquarters lot to look at a water tank we recently replaced.

The Disaster: This specific tank suffered a catastrophic failure, completely flooding a client's home.

The Lessons: Cory breaks down exactly why this happened and more importantly, how you can prevent it from happening to yours.

You don't want to wait until your basement is a swimming pool to think about hot water tank maintenance. Keep your eyes peeled for the full video dropping soon!
