Fireworks can be exciting for us, but they aren’t always enjoyable for our dogs.
With Canada Day here, we wanted to share a few simple reminders to help keep your dog safe and comfortable. While today’s celebrations may be over soon, these tips are helpful any time of year when fireworks are expected.
Every dog responds differently. Some may sleep through the noise, while others may feel worried or overwhelmed. Preparing ahead of time can make a big difference.
• Keep your dog indoors in a safe, quiet space.
• Play calming music or white noise to help mask the sounds.
• Offer a stuffed Kong, safe chew, or enrichment activity to help them relax.
• Make sure your dog’s ID tag and microchip details are up to date.
• Keep them on a leash if they need to go outside during or after fireworks.
• If your dog has a history of struggling with fireworks, speak with your veterinarian before the next event to discuss ways to support them.
Our goal isn’t to force dogs to cope with fireworks, it’s to help them feel safe, supported, and set up for success.
We hope everyone has a safe Canada Day and that your dogs have a calm and comfortable evening.

🐾 Looking for a Forever Home 🐾
Meet Juno, a beautiful 1-year-old black Lab looking for her next chapter 💜
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Juno is no longer able to stay with her previous family. This decision has not been taken lightly, and our goal is to find her a home where she can truly thrive.
Please note: Juno is not from our breeding program.
Juno is:
✔️ Spayed and fully up to date on vaccinations
✔️ Social and friendly with people and other dogs
✔️ A typical adolescent Lab, full of energy and enthusiasm
✔️ Started in training, with a solid foundation and some good obedience skills
She has:
🐕 Good recall
🐕 Good leash skills, with continued practice recommended to further develop consistency
🐕 A very friendly nature, though she can be a little enthusiastic at times
What Juno needs:
Juno would do best in an active home that understands the needs of a young Labrador. A family who enjoys being outdoors, walking, hiking, or has space for her to run and decompress would be ideal. Continued training, structure, and guidance will help her mature into a well-balanced adult.
At this time, we would recommend a home without very young children, simply due to her energy level and excitement.
Juno has so much potential and just needs the right environment to shine. With the right support, she will make an incredibly loyal, fun, and loving companion.
If you feel you could be the right fit for Juno, please reach out to us directly to learn more.
Please share to help Juno find her perfect home 🐾
