Celebrating the woman; the mountain, the rock, the entrepreneur, the connector, the fitness maven, the motivator, the community builder; the strong independent & vulnerable open heart; the charisma, the giver, the helper, the considerate and the comedic relief.

The friend, the sister, the daughter, the step-mom, the ever-loving wife.

She dreamt it, and made it happen. In a city she loves, Kristen build a place for more than just innovative fitness - she built and bonded a community for us to find ourselves, discover the mind-body connection, and move together. Most of all, encouraged us to challenge ourselves to push further than we know is possible. AND TO HAVE THE TIME OF OUR LIVES WHILE DOING IT!

Let the legacy be left at Alive, that reminds us and encourages us; You are always stronger than you think you are.

Here’s to you, Kristen! You are stronger than you think you are. You have truly left your mark.

“During the weirdest most isolates moments of covid 19, I started doing yoga in the park with Kailey, who them suggested I come to one of her classes at Alive. It was a Yoga Restore class on a Saturday and it was the first time I’d been in a public space in like a year. Alissa was also doing class and her and some friends chatted with me in the lobby after class. I literally wrote in my journal about how good it felt to have has a conversation with new people and how nice of a community I felt like/ There is something about being SEEN, even if just a very small moment, when you’ve been super lonely that just oof! Came for stretching and yoga, stayed for the good vibes and nice people Kristen, it is truly incredible that you have created this.“

“I’ve been at Alive since almost the beginning (June 2015). It has always been a very special place to me and that is solely due to the members and staff. It is just a place. A glorious place with heart stopping sunsets in the summer and serene white ceilings that you can loose yourself in during yoga. But Alive is all of you awesome people. Kristen had a vision…and she made that happen for us. I know I feel like a better person having been a part of it.  
We nurtured each other, we encouraged each other, and we commiserated with each other when we had to. I have seen so many people come and go…but the spirit has never changed there. I have had great losses, gains, life changes, moves while I was at Alive. And that white ceiling was always there to calm me. There were always hugs. And let’s face it…we make great asses at Alive!! 
So we are saying good bye for a while. And we will keep the spirit “alive” by finding other places to stretch and sweat. We will find each other and celebrate those fun random meetings. I will be there if and when we find a new place for Alive. Because it is only a place. But you all are Alive. And I love you. And I will see you all out and about. Sweat. Smile. Repeat. See you all soon! “

[TW] We, at Alive, would like to take a moment to share the personal experience of our Owner & Founder, Kristen. Our intention in doing so is to inform our community with accurate information and request compassion and support as her and her family navigate the road ahead.
