Effective October 08, 2024, I will be discharged from Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, a testament to the remarkable care provided by the hospital's exceptional staff. Under Dr. Sardi's expert leadership, my prognosis has transformed from late-stage 4 cancer to a significantly improved outlook, for which Shane and I are eternally grateful.

What’s next?

Shane and I stay in Baltimore for another week to 10 days so I can become stronger, then when I’m up to we we fly home.

A quick update on my health status, After chemotherapy I am doing better than was expected after a laparoscopic exploratory surgery, that is the best news I have had since I began this journey in January. As I posted a few months back I have cancer that requires a specialized surgery called CRS/HIPEC. This procedure is offered in Baltimore, Maryland by the world renown surgical oncologist Dr A Sardi. I was originally scheduled for Aug 6th but due to complications from chemotherapy, surgery was delayed to Sept 3rd, that surgery was canceled because I had managed to catch a cold the night before. Sept 26 is the new date! With the two required laparoscopic procedures, one night in the hospital on top of the pre-paid CRS/HIPEC surgery, travel and accommodations we are way over our $200,000 CDN estimate.
