I love getting to build a website & translate someone’s expertise and passion into a digital experience that actually reflects it.

Dr. Kaila Holtz is a physiatrist (specialist physician) with an expertise in sports medicine & evidence-based treatments for joint, soft tissue & tendon pain (ps. She’s also an Olympian!) Her website project was all about creating an online presence that not only reflected her professional expertise, but built in her playfulness and creativity while maintaining trust among her target audience.

Through intentional strategy, a thoughtful user experience & custom design, we built a website that not only looks beautiful but also supports how her audience navigates, understands and connects with her 💻

I’ve stopped using hashtags on my posts and here’s my hot take: hashtags don’t matter if you have keyword-rich content.

Over the past few months, it has become more and more apparent to me that hashtags are becoming a thing of the past here on Instagram. Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram, recently told users that hashtags are not the ultimate growth strategy anymore. They don’t grow your reach and they aren’t going to get you a boat load more visibility, so the need to add 10+ hashtags to your content to try and get everyone and anyone to view it is now a super outdated growth strategy.

Now their only purpose is to help explain to your viewers what your content is about + categorize it. If you have a killer caption that has keywords infused throughout, that’s a much better strategy for visibility than using hashtags.

Plus hashtags are starting to be ‘phased out’ to some degree, with users reporting that they can no longer add more than 3-5 hashtags to their posts anyways.

Gone are the days of 30+ hashtags per post. Now we’re focusing on creating engaging content that attracts users & gets them interacting, through the use of visuals and keyword-rich captions.
