We are happy to announce Katie McGowan has joined SDC as Corporate Executive Officer (CEO) 🎉

Katie is thrilled to formally join the Songhees Team as CEO of the Songhees Development Corporation! She brings nearly two decades of global business leadership to the table, specializing in economic development and strategic planning. With a commitment to fostering inclusive environments and collaborative business development initiatives, Katie brings a proven track record of driving economic growth everywhere she goes, from Lekwungen territory to China.

Her extensive experience includes co-founding LaFlesche, one of Canada’s first Indigenous Defence companies; participating in the iconic $21 billion IPO of technology company Alibaba Group; holistic business planning with Explore Songhees; and managing multi-million-dollar portfolios in Vancouver Island's health and technology sectors. Katie is excited to contribute her knowledge of economic development and passion for building authentic relationships to SDC’s growing profile and work together to ensure resilient and prosperous business for the Songhees Community.

Established in 2016, the Songhees Food Truck is one of the first Indigenous food trucks in Canada.
