Creature Comforts Dog Walking

I want to do a little appreciation post to my Dads dog Ivy who is 15 years old! This girl was TERRIFIED of dogs up until she was about 10 years old. She would run away or hide when one would come near her. And then I did what you could classify as exposure therapy. I started my business and would bring the dogs I boarded with me to my Dads property and she started small with little sniffs and walking the yard together. Before I knew it she would be wagging her tail and greeting the new dogs with open paws! Then I asked my Dad about bringing a group of dogs from Victoria to his property every Friday and he was stoked on the idea! Now every Friday, Ivy waits by the door and comes running out to the van! She sniffs every dog, not waiting for them to approach first. She has made amazing steps at an older age of overcoming a fear and learning to appreciate her own kind. I’m just so glad Ivy can be a part of the Friday playtimes no matter her age 🥰🐶
