Rachel Sanders visited the Fresh Roots Urban Farm Society team at the IIl Centro Italian Cultural Centre for CBC Vancouver last week as they prepared the Summer Harvest Boxes for the Schoolyard Harvest Dinner At-Home Edition. Fresh Roots converts school yard space into food gardens and provides educational programming to youth. The team has adapted their programs, initiatives and their fundraising efforts due to COVID-19.

Rachel talked with Interim Executive Director Alexa Pitoulis and chefs-in-residence Tasha Sawyer and TJ Conwi about Fresh Roots, its Sustainable Opportunities for Youth Leadership (SOYL) program, LunchLAB and the critical funds needed to keep these important initiatives going.
