NEW EPIDEMIC IN CHILDREN???
By the numbers, it looks like autism could be considered one. And the data does not include the other learning and behavioral challenges that we see in the classrooms or in special therapy consultancies.
But there is hope in new scientific research that incorporates biomedical interventions and functional medicine approaches that address the systemic challenges that children in the spectrum present.
After 15 years as a homeopath and special education teacher, I have developed a program that includes nutrition, supplementation, gentle detoxification and neurodevelopmental exercises to unlock a child's potential without the use of drugs.

WOW! More than 1 million new neural connections form every second during pregnancy and early childhood!
This is a critical and sensitive period for neurological development where all the foundation is laid for higher executive functions of the brain, such as memory, emotion, language and learning.
What to do to support this miraculous, layered, scaffolded, bottom-up, natural process? Well...
1. Keep mom and bay happy and rested both during pregnancy and after - stress is bad for brain growth.
2. Eat local, organic, whole foods that support brain development - no pesticides, herbicides, unnatural chemicals and weird stuff that you cannot pronounce :)
3. Consider a natural birth for immune health and to jump-starting the central nervous system of the baby - the squeezing part of birthing process is kind of important!
4. Try your best to breastfeed! Sometimes it takes a lot of tries and can be painful at the beginning but trust me! It IS worth it for oral-motor and brain development.
5. As your child grows provide extra opportinuties for NATURAL MOVEMENT, to move safely and freely on their belly, tummies, creeping, crawling, sitting and standing wihout being propped or supported when they are not ready.
6. Surround your child with loving and engaging social and emotional interactions. In other words, simple family and friends home environments that are responsive to the child.
Voilá! Nature will do the rest!!!
