I had the blessing of meeting Silas Alves de Queiroz—years after he drew my portrait and quietly held onto it, waiting for the right moment. When Silas learned that Lauren would be joining us, he also created a piece for her—another generous, unexpected gift. And then, that moment arrived.

Thanks to .boaretto , we finally met. Silas shared a private one-man performance with our family—intimate, generous, brilliant.

Deep thanks to and who run Grupo Teatral Moitara, for welcoming us into their space and inviting us to play with the masks.

Then came the masks—play, laughter, transformation. Pure joy.

Silas is a pioneering Brazilian Deaf actor, visual artist, and designer—an active voice for Libras, Deaf visual culture, and linguistic access in public spaces.

Huge thanks to Deaf Way Film Festival for honoring Idle Hands with Best Short Film and the Audience Award…two awards in one night! I’m beyond grateful and deeply honored.

Special thanks to Adam Membrey (writer) and Joey Caverly (actor) who were there in person to receive the awards on my behalf. It’s poetic justice that there were two awards for two hands.

Endless gratitude to my wife Lauren and our sons Levi and Wyatt for always supporting me through every wild idea and endless hours of work.
