I taught myself to tie my shoes.

It wasn’t because someone neglected to teach me. Or I couldn’t understand when they tried.

I learned to tie my shoes like. Language.

Shoes and shoelaces.

Noises.

What can I do with them? That will make. Mom. Smile.

It took a while. Me tying my shoes. As I did. Before I learned. I tied them. Differently.

“What the f**k? Look how this kid ties his shoes!”

I didn’t care how other people tied their shoes. I have no idea how my way of tying shoes differs. From yours.

Until a few moments ago, I’d never given much thought to my “unique shoe tying journey.”
