Welcome to District Stories, a new series celebrating the people who make our masterplan districts what they are.

Meet Jessie and Mervyn.

After living in Olympic Village and Gastown, Jessie and Mervyn were looking for a place that offered a connection to the water and a strong sense of community. When they discovered River District they knew they had found home.

In this edition of District Stories, they share what drew them to the neighbourhood, why the Fraser River has become part of their daily routine, and how the relationships they've built with their neighbours have made River District more than just a place to live.

From evening walks along the waterfront to watching the community continue to grow, Jessie and Mervyn's story is a reminder that home is about the connections you make along the way.

Construction at Harlin in River District continues to make steady progress, with both the tower and podium continuing to rise.

The tower has now reached Level 8, while the podium section has progressed to Level 6. The tower hoist is also now active on site, supporting the next phase of construction as work continues to advance.

Window installation is expected to begin next month, marking another exciting milestone as Harlin's exterior starts to take shape.

With continued momentum on site, it's exciting to see Harlin coming to life as part of the growing River District community.

On Thursday, we welcomed Prime Minister Mark Carney to our Harlin site in our masterplan community, River District.

During the visit, Prime Minister Carney announced a new partnership between the Government of Canada and the Government of British Columbia, alongside Premier David Eby, aimed at transforming, connecting, and modernizing communities across the province. Through this partnership, Canada’s new government will invest more than $5 billion in local infrastructure across British Columbia over the next decade.

Thank you to everyone involved in this announcement and for choosing River District as the backdrop for this important conversation about housing, infrastructure, and the future growth of communities across British Columbia.

Progress continues at our Oak & 41st site.

The north side of the project is now preparing to reach Level 23, with window installation progressing through Level 14 and drywall underway up to Level 4.

On the south side, the Level 18 roof slab was recently completed, with the Level 19 elevator overrun scheduled next. Window installation has also advanced to Level 10 as the building continues to take shape.

With both towers rising and interior work gaining momentum, it's exciting to see this future community come to life.

Construction at The Keary in Brewery District continues to make significant progress.

In April, the project reached a major milestone with the completion of the building structure. With the tower now topped out, work has shifted to advancing the interior construction, and the tower crane is expected to come down in the coming weeks.

Residential window installation has reached Level 27, while office windows are now approximately 90% complete. Inside, framing is progressing through Level 21 as the building continues to take shape from the inside out.

As the final residential addition to Brewery District, The Keary will bring new homes to a well-established, transit-connected community, surrounded by retail, healthcare, and everyday amenities.
