Not to immediately go off-topic, but is "the Cheesy S***s" not an excellent name for a band? We're calling dibs on it. It's in writing now. We shall only play cheesy 80s love ballads, and each show will end with me pulling a chain to dump gallons of searing nacho cheese on myself, Flashdance-style. True, the regular skin grafts will be expensive, but great art has always come at a cost!

Speaking of ART, MHAA 2 is done! And has been done! For a while! Thanks, YouTube! In any case, it should be released from Copyright Jail (it's like H***y Jail, only far less fun) any day now. So keep an eye out! In the meantime, the episode is still available on Patreon at the $5+ Tier! Continuing the fellating of MHAA, we're already over halfway done with recording! We're getting real excited hearing all the new classmates record their lines for the first time! ESPECIALLY Brian. Hi, Brian! We know you read these. Get called out, you beautiful, talented, bitch!

In SAOA news, I've been plugging away on a lot of visual edits. Quite a bit more challenging lip-flaps this episode. Lots of mouths that need to be tracked and masked and whatnot. Do you have any idea what a pain in the ass it is the lip-flap someone while they have semi-transparent glowing text periodically flying in front of their mouths? DO YOU?! Yeah. That's what I thought. FWHACK you.

And that's about it! Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got band practice to get to. I gotta tune my guitar and start boiling the cheese. Sure, maybe we don't NEED it for practice, but I'm a perfectionist. Gotta build up my tolerance to having my skin rapidly evaporated by molten dairy. Can you, like, build up calluses on your entire body by doing that? No? It'll just turn me into an oozing human blister? Yeah, that tracks. Thank god our songs are bangin'.

Wait...

If our songs are so good, why do we need the gimmick? Carrie? Carrie, why do we... no, Carrie, you put down that cheese! You get away from me with that gouda, Carrie! How are you so fast while hauling a barrel of aaaaaaAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH?!?!?!?!

So that's where our heads are at one year into a pandemic. How y'all doing? Good? Aw, that's real nice of you to lie to us. Clearly, you've also forgotten how to interact with "the People". Glad we can all be in the same leaky boat together. But also wearing two masks each and sitting six feet apart. If you close your eyes and deny real hard, it's almost like a cruise! WEEEEEEEEE!!!!! *manic sobbing*

But not to worry. We're only mentally broken. Our bodies are still... technically functional, and more than capable of continuing our work. Honestly, it's not that much different. We've all been empty husks of people for years, feasting on the souls of YouTube commenters to forestall our inevitable return to Quor'toth: the hellish nether realm from which we erupted from our sire's pulsating brood sac, and quickly began our grim task of transversing the planes to your world... Ee'Arth...

We've said too much...

SO ANIME PARODIES!!! Things have been slow, but we're gradually widdling our way through the massive list of actors we need to record for the next SAOA. There's, like, armies involved in this one, you guys. It's... kind of a lot. But we've finally been able to schedule time in the booth to record Kirito, which means that Izzy can soon return to the safety and warmth of his editing cacoon. I mean basement. Just a normal hooman basement.

Carrie's been able to finish doing the SFX for a few more scenes in MHAA, and things are really starting to come together! We supes proud of her! There's a montage that we're really about! A fitting metaphor for her journey as an editor. Why it feels like only yesterday when she emerged from her gelatin-encrusted editor pod, slick with the collective knowledge of a thousand forebearers and a yearly subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud. My god... she's come so far. *face te****le wipes tears away from seventeen eyes*

You also may have noticed that our streaming schedule for SWE&D got a lil squiffy the last couple weeks. Our good good boi Coffinjockey had some out-of-town bidness to attend to, so instead, we did a stream sponsored by RAID SHADOW LEGENDS. Twas a pretty good time. Thanks to all y'all who showed up to that. We're gonna be playing SWE&D again this Friday to get things back on track, so come check it out! It's definitely still just a h***y pirate adventure! Like the mighty ox for which this year is named, we shall plough your virgin soil until it is moist and fertile something something sexy something something... crops?

We did it. We survived. Proud of you. Proud of us. As a collective. As a hivemind. You have been assimilated. We are the Borg. We doin' it, y'all.

So anywho! We got some good news to start off the new year. We finished the first draft of the script for SAOA 16! We worked through Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve to do it, but we got it done right under the wire! It is... 36 pages... Oh god, why?! Gonna maybe see if we can trim that a bit. Maybe get it down to a lean 35? Yeah, that seems reasonable.

We're honestly really excited to work on this one. It's got some STUFF. Let's just say there are some characters/character moments we're quite proud of that we REALLY shouldn't be proud of. XD

On the MHAA front, we finally got the last of the art assets that we needed to complete the visuals! Now Carrie just needs to finish the very simple task of adding music and sound effects and levelling the volume of hundreds of audio clips and making sure the timing isn't ruined by doing any of those things. Shouldn't take more than an afternoon really. Oh, what's that? Oh, she's stabbing me now. Because of all the things I just said. Well, I will not apologize for speaking my truth, Carrie. The people must know of your laziness. What's that? A second knife? Well, that changes things now doesn't it, you hardworking hero. You POWERHOUSE of industry. May I now remove these knives from my kidneys? No? That's fair.

Finally, we're very pleased to announce that SWE&D is coming back this Friday! Y'all ready for more boat shenanigans?! Well too bad! You're gettin' 'em anyway! Will Val and Drake ever smooch? Will Oromak smooch the captain? Will the captain smooch Oromak? Will everybody smooch everybody else in just a big ol' boat o**y? I, Kasim, say yes. Definitely. The spirits have seen it. In the stars. Guaranteed. The filth these spirits have seen is... unimaginable...

Joyeux Noël, ya ho ho hos!

We got a special Crimbo present for y'all! It's the same present we get you every month! The update! So it's like regular Crimas, but like there's twelve of 'em! I guess it's really more like Hannukah when we say it like that. But, like, if Hannukah were spread out across the whole year instead of just December. Wouldn't really be a holiday if that were the case, we suppose. Just sort of a thing that happens. Anyway, happy Crimbannukah is what we're sayin'.
Anyway, we been doin' our best to keep on the sched, but we've had one or two hiccups. Once everything was laid out in editing, we realized a few things about MHAA that we felt we needed to change in order to make it the best it can be. It was a very tough call, but we eventually decided that the best thing to do was to recast one of the main characters. Luckily, we were able to get those lines re-recorded with the new actor very quickly, and everything is already back on track. NOBODY PANIC! IT'S NOT TAKA! YOU THINK WE'D LET THAT SWEET CUPCAKE GO?! THAT DELICIOUS CINNAMON ROLL?! THAT FROSTED SUGAR COOKIE?! GOD HIS VR CHARACTER IS SO HOT!

What were we talking about? Oh, right. Work.

So SAOA's scripting has been going real well! In the interest of speeding that up, we decided to add an extra scripting day. Hoping to get this fat bitch done by the end of the year. It's a chonker. But like... but like a funny chonker. You know, like Cinderblock? Wonder how they're doing? Think they're Thinderblock yet? We hope not. It'd really ruin this analogy.

Speaking of chonkers! We finally made our way through all the 1550+ auditions for MHAA and made or selections! If you made the cut, we'll be notifying you through email soon! We're so sorry, Brian. We're so so sorry.

Lastly, like things do around December, scheduling for our streams is gonna get a bit wonky. This Friday, the 11th, it's gonna be your regularly scheduled game of SWE&D. The following week would normally be a game stream, but since we're going to be taking the 25th and January 1st off, we'll instead be bringing y'all more SWE&D. Woo! Then we'll be back on the 8th with, you guessed it, YET ADDITIONAL SWE&D! GOD YES JUST HOOK IT TO MY VEINS!
We think that's absolutely everything! Good luck wrapping up this complete dumpster fire of a year. Holy f**k it cannot possibly end fast enough!

Real talk, this year has obviously been really tough for everybody, and we can't thank you guys enough for your continued support. It means the world to us that, even during a goshdang apocalypse, y'all still want your silly internet videos. We hope we've at least been able to make you smile during this, the worst year ever. At least in our lifetime. If you're anything like us, you might not be able to go see your families for the holidays this year, and that sucks. All we can do is stay home and hope that 2021 is just the teensiest bit better than this endless abyss of pain and misery. Let's take a moment to look back on all the good that 2020 has given us:
