What I wish I had learned 20 years ago:
- When getting an offer, always ask for more. More money, more vacation time, more something.

- Network internally in your company, not just externally. This is huge.

- Encourage people on your team to advocate for themselves and create a safe place for them to share their thoughts.

- It’s ok to have a different opinion and you should voice it.

As a society that’s been accustomed to an individualistic “blame the victim” narrative, it’s easy to single out individuals as if they’re the ones that need to “be fixed” or “improved”. What’s beautiful about this quote is that it reminds us to look at the environments, the context, the circumstances, that people are situated in.

This macro level perspective helps us better understand the environment that one is in and, even, leads us to supporting one another to flourish into our highest potential 🌷🪷🌹

But, why?? Making a vow to never do this again. 🙋🏼‍♀️
