Excellent Japanese 2-speed belt drive from the mid 1970s. Akai from this period were crafting world class equipment and the AP-003 is no exception. Ever see one of these?? This mid-70s gem is a rarity to say the least. While simple looking, this turntable is an audiophile masterclass. To B&O, elegance in design and innovation were just as important as sound quality. Not satisfied with copying their competitors, they designed and built every piece in-house and actually established an alternative audio ecosystem side by side with the Japanese without copying them. Very impressive!
