The first motorsport event I attended as a photographer was 2006, an annual SCCA historics racing weekend at Laguna Seca near Monterey, California. It followed a licensing session that I took for Skip Barber series, and started me on the way to my SCCA license. I had several friends running in the SCCA weekend, and the good news was that I had full access including being in the marshall's towers. It was my first weekend with a full set of digital camera equipment and although I felt a significant amount of imposter sysndrome some good results happened despite myself.

A significant blue marble moment for me - It is hard to describe what it feels like to step out of your hotel early in the monring and see this view up the street into the former Les Halles market area, now a large park, with the sight of Saint-Eustache church in the background. Although this area was normally quite busy this moment was almost without people except for those at the produce store already open on the corner. The feeling of this shot, for me, is of great memories of a city that is full of views like this, and that you could never see all of them. That's a good thing.
