My partner and I decided to buy an apartment together a few years ago so we thought it would be a good time/opportunity to tell my parents about us since we've been living together for about 7 years at that point.

Then the above happened... ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I had to tell my parents afterwards that it was my attempt to come out to them gently, but was met with "are you sure?" and "didn't you date that girl?". It took a while before they fully accepted the reality but we're good now. And they even always take my partner's side whenever we'd have arguments here and there ๐Ÿ™„

Honestly I thought they'd already known for a long time, but I guess the Asian mentality of pretending everything's fine was too strong. At least I can laugh about this experience now, I guess?

Anyone else has interesting coming out stories to share? We would love to read them!

Before meeting my current partner, I thought I'd just hide my sexuality from my conservative, evangelical Christian, family forever, and I couldn't even begin to imagine what would happen if I came out to them.

Well, now that the cat's out of the bag, I can't imagine never letting them in on an integral part of who I am. It was a tough journey to take with them but, thankfully, it's also a very rewarding one.

Although it's not very dramatic or entertaining, I'll be sharing part of that journey with y'all this week.

Please share your stories in the comment section if you have any!
