One theme that stood out throughout Salone del Mobile was the growing importance of lighting in residential interiors. From sculptural decorative fixtures to seamlessly integrated architectural lighting, designers are using light not just to illuminate spaces, but to shape mood, experience and the way we live within them.
Throughout Salone, we saw lighting treated as an architectural feature rather than simply a functional necessity. There was also a clear shift away from direct, intense lighting in favour of a softer, more ambient glow.
We love incorporating sculptural, statement lighting into our designs and we left Milan inspired by new possibilities for integrating light into the spaces we create.

The Project Normandale living room is a mid-century modern marvel with vertical wood slat panelling, luxe, sculptural furniture and a linear fireplace.
The organic, cream palette is punctuated with walnut wood tones and personally significant decor details.

INSTRINSICALLY INSPIRED ••• BACKYARD PATIOS
As summer approaches, our thoughts are turning to patios - the perfect place to host friends and neighbors for garden cocktails and backyard barbecues.
We’re especially drawn to spaces layered with greenery and warm natural materials, bringing to mind the jungles of Tulum while staying grounded in minimalist design. Sandstone, soft neutrals and built-in seating platforms bring practicality as well as aesthetics to the space.
We’re currently loving a Japandi meets modern desert approach, soft curves, organic palettes and sculptural planters that bring a sense of calm to outdoor living.

Thank you for an absolutely stunning and inspiring time.
It was so exciting to immerse ourselves in the exhibits and put a finger on the pulse of design in 2026. During out time at Salone, we noticed several distinctive design directions that we were especially drawn to.
Conversation pits, ultra plush seating and high gloss materials are back! We loved the use of lighting as jewelry, LED integration, high gloss materials, evolved kitchens, layered textiles and automated integration throughout homes.
We can’t wait to integrate what we saw and learned into some of our upcoming projects!

We’re always exploring new ways to approach wellness-centred design and technology offers a particularly fascinating avenue.
When integrated thoughtfully, home automation devices can help support natural rhythms, good habits and healthy routines.
Consider systems that support Circadian rhythms such as lighting that dims and brightens automatically or air quality control systems. Home automation can even aid in limiting screen time or help limit exposure to artificial light.
