New podcast!
"Introduction to Quantum and Financial Services," the first episode in our Quantum Computing and Financial Supervision series, is now available.
Listen here: https://shorturl.at/S5eSY
As quantum computing moves from theory to real-world application, it has the potential to reshape key aspects of financial systems, from risk modelling and analytics to cybersecurity. While large-scale quantum capabilities are still developing, their future ability to compromise existing encryption standards presents a material risk to data security and financial stability.
In this three-part series, Jennifer Elliott and Professor Michele Mosca explore what this emerging technology means for the financial sector and how supervisors can begin to prepare.
In this introductory episode, they discuss what quantum computing is, why it matters for financial services, the risks it could create, and how supervisors should begin preparing.
Guest:
Michele Mosca, Professor, Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo
Host:
Jennifer Elliott, Assistant Director, Monetary and Capital Markets, IMF; Board Member, Toronto Centre
The second and third episodes will be coming later this month.
