After a project is complete, buildings take on another life, their real life, and us architects that once intimately knew these buildings, lived these buildings for many months or years, step back, move onto the next project and only on occasions do we get to see how these buildings perform in their real life, how they are used, how they become lived in.
By chance today we stumbled upon one of Zsofi's past projects, the Fortius Athlete Development Centre in Burnaby, BC (architects: CannonDesign) as it made an appearance in CBC's Winter Olympics interview with snowboarder Mark McMorris about his recovery and journey back to the Games following a terrifying accident. Check out the hydrotherapy pool and gym at minute 1:38 and 2:10 of this video.
Also, congratulations to McMorris for winning bronze a few days ago! What an amazing comeback!
