Why are condo fees so high? 🏢

A lot of buyers see a $500-600/month fee and assume something’s wrong with the building. Sometimes it’s actually the opposite.

Fees cover insurance, utilities for common areas, staff, and the reserve fund — the building’s savings account for big repairs down the road. A lower fee isn’t always the better deal. Sometimes it just means the bill is coming later.

Would you rather pay a bit more now knowing the building’s looked after — or pay less today and take your chances?
