𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.

Seriously. Put the self-criticism down for a minute.
Because I want to share something that took me decades in business to understand.

The reason productivity systems don't stick has nothing to do with discipline.
It's something most business conversations never address.

Here's what I mean.
I spent 33 years running a landscape architecture practice.
By the end, I had a team of 7, a 7-figure business, clients who trusted me, and work I was genuinely proud of.

I was also completely, chronically exhausted.

I tried every system. Refined every process. Started earlier and stayed later.

And no matter what I did, the overwhelm was always right there waiting.

It wasn't until I discovered what I now call an Unconscious Hijack that I finally understood why.

Here's the simple version.
Our brains have safety rules. Rules formed early in life that run quietly in the background, shaping everything we do — including how we work.

And sometimes those safety rules convince us that:
→ Staying busy = staying safe.
→ Staying in control = avoiding disaster.
→ Doing everything ourselves = doing it right.

These aren't character flaws. They're patterns.

And here's the hard truth about patterns:
No system can override them.
Not until you can see them clearly.

This is the piece most productivity conversations leave out entirely.
And it's the piece that changes everything.
