Today, I’m proud to wear these purple shades in support of the Shades for Migraine® movement. 💜🕶️

For many people, sunglasses are just an accessory. For millions living with migraine, they’re often a necessity. Photophobia is one of the most common and debilitating symptoms of migraine but these shades represent something even bigger.

Migraine is an invisible neurologic disease affecting more than a billion people worldwide, yet so many people still hear “It’s just a headache.”

Every conversation helps reduce stigma. Every shared story helps someone feel less alone. And every person who learns that migraine is a neurologic disease, not simply a bad headache, brings us one step closer to better understanding, better research and better care.

If you live with migraine, know this: I see you. And if you don’t, I hope today helps you better understand someone who does. 💜💖

Maybe the world needs more World Cups. 🌎🏆

The World Cup isn’t just about fútbol. It’s about people from different countries laughing together, cheering together, trading jerseys, sharing food, learning each other’s songs and celebrating each other’s cultures. 🙌🏻

In a world that can feel so divided, it’s a beautiful reminder that connection comes more naturally than we’re often led to believe.✨

Fútbol has always been about more than the game. ⚽️💚💛

Here’s to more moments like these. 💖

June is Migraine and Headache Awareness Month. 💜

One thing I’ve learned from treating patients and living with migraine myself is that people often carry more than the physical symptoms.

They carry the pressure to “push through.”

The fear of letting people down.

The feeling that they have to justify or apologize for an invisible disease.

If this resonates with you, I hope you know this:

Taking care of your brain is never something you should feel guilty about.

Did you know excessive yawning can be a symptom of migraine? 🥱

For many patients, frequent yawning isn’t just a sign of being tired. It can actually be part of the prodrome phase, the earliest stage of a migraine attack, occurring hours or even days before the headache begins.

As part of Migraine and Headache Awareness Month, we’re talking about the symptoms, stages and science of migraine that don’t get discussed nearly enough.

What other migraine symptoms should we cover this month? Let me know in the comments. 🧠⚡️
