FEMALE POWER: Prof. Iyabo Obasanjo has formally announced her 2027 gubernatorial ambition in Ogun State, aiming to become the state’s first female governor. Speaking at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, she outlined a development-driven agenda focusing on industrial growth, agriculture value addition, education reform, technology hubs, tourism, improved transportation, and job creation. “Ogun State is well-positioned to elect a female governor. Female leadership is not strange to us. It is part of who we are,” she said. Obasanjo also emphasised her strong connection to grassroots communities and described her decade-long international experience as an asset for governance.
