One of the hardest parts of adult life isn’t finding things to do.

It’s finding people to do them with.

A lot of people join Salsa and Bachata classes because they want to learn to dance.

What surprises them is what happens next.

The group chat starts.
Someone invites you to a social.
You recognize familiar faces.
Friendships start forming.

Before long, you’re not just showing up for the dancing.

You’re showing up for the people.

If you’ve ever wondered how to make friends as an adult, meet people in Toronto, or find a community where you belong, social dancing might be one of the most underrated answers.

Salsa POV:

Your friend drove.

You’re tired.
Your feet hurt.
You’re ready to go home.

Your friend:

“Just a few more songs.”

😂

Every social dancer knows that’s the biggest lie in the community.

Three songs becomes thirty minutes.

Thirty minutes becomes closing time.

The funny thing is that people think they stay for the dancing.

Most of the time they stay for the people.

The conversations.
The friendships.
The laughs.
The feeling of belonging somewhere.

That’s why it’s so hard to leave.

My Salsa teacher:

“Don’t worry, it’s easy. Just do this.”

Me at the social:

🫠

If you’ve ever felt amazing in class and then forgotten everything the moment the music starts, you’re not alone.

One of the biggest mistakes beginner Salsa dancers make is thinking they’re supposed to remember every move.

You’re not.

Social dancing isn’t a test.

It’s practice.

The dancers who improve the fastest aren’t the ones with perfect memories.

They’re the ones willing to look a little silly while figuring things out.

So if you’ve ever blanked out, forgotten a turn pattern, or accidentally invented a move that doesn’t exist…

Congratulations.

You’re learning.

POV: You’re asking the Salsa Gods for rhythm.

😂

One of the most common things beginners tell us is:

“I can’t dance.”
“I have no rhythm.”
“I’m not coordinated.”

The funny part?

Almost every good dancer said the exact same thing when they started.

Rhythm isn’t something you’re born with.

It’s something you train.

Step by step.
Song by song.
Class by class.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn Salsa but thought you weren’t naturally talented enough, this is your reminder:

Nobody starts as a great dancer.

They become one.

Whose one person in your life you wish took lessons Salsa/Bachata?

Feet hurt.
Back hurts.
Legs hurt.

Someone asks:

“Was it worth it?”

Every dancer already knows the answer.

The friendships.
The laughs.
The confidence.
The music.
The feeling when a move finally works.

That’s why people keep coming back.

Learning Salsa and Bachata isn’t always easy.

But some of the best things in life aren’t.

The question isn’t whether it’s worth it.

The question is whether you’re willing to grow into the person who can do it.
