Natural movement training is fun, but it means very little until you free it from the confines of "exercise."

Natural Skill Development is about building the capability (fitness) to move freely through any environment. Obstacles become options that, while first slowing you down, eventually become tools to help smoothen and shorten your route.

It also feels really good to look at a beautiful piece of architecture and actually interface with it so physically.  I definitely build a deeper connection with the land and space that I inhabit along my journeys when I am moving through them and exploring how my physicality can calibrate to these different environments, natural, man-made, or a harmonized union of the two.

My healing journey started with rest and self-Shiatsu, then stretching and gentle mobility work, then strengthening and reinforcement, and now it feels really good, a year and a half later to be able to challenge myself with jumps, twisting motions, and lateral stabilization without fear of reinjury.

Some people are satisfied and stop their mobility development work once they feel "good enough", but I'll keep working on it for life, becoming stronger and more adaptable than before!
