Released April 3rd on all Streaming Platforms, “Liquid Express” is an old-school analog heavy, “Live-Jam”-inspired Dancefloor Track. Written using mostly Harwdware gear (303 fed into a TR8-S, with an SE-02 (w/ Filter Module) covering the Sub-Bass), these 3 instruments were recorded “Live” - adding Motion and parameter changes on the fly. I finished their arrangement using sounds (including vocals) either created/designed from scratch, or sampling original content from devices in my Studio. No Presets, all original sounds and samples. Recorded live and Mixed using Ableton LIVE, while Mastering using “Logic”. My first release under “Mike Spector” in almost 8 years, this was probably the most fun I’ve had writing a song: Using hardware opposed to Soft-Synths adds a Workflow I find closest to performing in the Studio - one adapts their sound as they hear it as opposed to the more “surgical”, “in-the-box” flows that modern DAWs cultivate. Made for dancing, listen on Stereo Speakers preferably with a Sub-Woofer for the full experience.
