🎤 Event 2 — Reverse Pitch Night @ Smart & Biggar with Startup Grind Toronto completely shifted how I think about fundraising. INVESTORS pitched US. Their thesis. Their wish list. They told us their how-to-work-with-them guide. Revolutionary doesn’t even cover it.

Takeaways in the slides: Tech, investment + culture intersect in a meaningful way. Community matters! Your peers will put you on. Reverse pitches are the future. Networking and raising can be FUN!

🚀 What a journey! As I close out the 8-week Venture Catalyst Accelerator, I’m reflecting on the growth, the pivots, and the powerful community built along the way.

Presenting at the Venture Catalyst Showcase 2026 was a milestone but the real impact is the direction we’re heading.

At , we’re focused on a critical and growing challenge: the rise of injuries in youth athletics and the long-term impact on health, confidence, and performance.

Through this accelerator, we’ve sharpened our mission to build innovative sports-tech solutions that leverage immersive technology and data to support injury prevention, athlete development, and safer training environments for young athletes.

But innovation must be responsible.

As we develop and commercialize our MVP, we are equally committed to ethical data collection, ensuring transparency, consent, and protection for youth athletes and their communities.

We’re actively forging partnerships with universities, sports organizations, and research institutions to bring this vision to life; bridging technology, education, and sport in meaningful ways.

This is just the beginning.

I’m proud to share that my tech company / Orion Digital Inc. has been selected for the Venture Catalyst Program at , York University, powered by York University

Orion Digital is expanding intentionally into:
🔹 EdTech — Immersive VR/AR learning environments and experiential training systems
🔹 Biotech — Next-generation sports wearables integrating biometric intelligence
🔹 Psychometrics — Cognitive and behavioral performance insights that bridge human potential with adaptive technology

We are building at the intersection of immersive innovation, data, and human performance.

This was a highly competitive cohort, only one-third of applicants were selected. I’m deeply honoured that Orion Digital is among them.

Four years ago, Orion began as a bold tech start-up vision.

I first entered this ecosystem as a mentee. Learning, refining, testing, building. To now return as a founder in Venture Catalyst feels like a full-circle moment.

Orientation was powerful; especially the all female-identified founders panel featuring:

✨ Mallory J Greene of Eirene
✨ Traci Cheng of Unified

They emphasized lessons that every founder needs to hear:
• Obsess over product–market fit
• Prioritize health over short-term gains
• Use patient, strategic scaling rather than rushed growth

Meeting fellow founders and entrepreneurs in this cohort reminded me why ecosystem matters. Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens in community.

The future of immersive education, biotech innovation, and performance intelligence is being built now and Orion Digital is ready to scale it.
