On September 2, 2019, the Government of Canada introduced the First Time Home Buyers Incentive Program. Its a shared equity mortgage, that allows first time home buyers to reduce mortgage payments without increasing their down payment. The Government will contribute 5% down payment towards resale homes and 5%/10% towards pre construction homes.
