We’ve had our fair share of old items come in for but at 70 years this may be the oldest! This is a Model 725 radio, manufactured in Canada in 1954. Featuring both medium and shortwave bands and good old fashioned vacuum tube technology (6 tubes), this beauty is a reminder of the days when the radio was the focal point of the living room. We haven’t been able to bring it back to life yet, but a little elbow grease and some helpful schematics may just do the trick!

Another classic laptop brought in for , this time it’s a T4800CT from 1995. Featuring an IntelDX4 75MHz processor, 8MB RAM, and a 500MB HDD, it had pretty good specs for the time and originally sold for $4-5,000 CAD (roughly $8-9,000 today). We really wanted to try out the detachable but unfortunately we haven’t been able to get the laptop to boot up…yet.

This is a blast from the past - October 1992 to be exact - version 3.0! Headquartered in Ottawa, Corel (now doing business as Alludo) had a great deal of success during the tech boom of the 90s and at one point was the biggest software company in Canada. A large part of this success was due to the popularity of the CorelDRAW software, and apparently the popularity has endured as they are still releasing new versions as of 2023!
