LONG WINTER 🤝GEARY ART CRAWL

THIS WEEKEND, MARCH 7-8, we’re partnering with to close out year 14 with back-to-back events at this year’s . Since 2021, the non-profit festival held along Geary Avenue between Dupont Street and Davenport Road has drawn in large crowds of art lovers, local vendors, and musicians, featuring more than 300 artists, 30 local businesses, 150 guest businesses, and 250,000 visitors.

We’re extending a massive thanks to Geary Art Crawl, Uma Nota Culture, and our venue partners x for generously sharing their space with us. Located at 300 Geary Ave., just west of Dufferin, we have a jam-packed weekend of music and art lined up for our Year 14 finale.

Geary Factory Lofts x The Fueling Station (300 Geary Ave.) is an accessible venue. All programming will take place on the second floor, which can be reached by elevator or stairs. Accessible washrooms are also available on site.

Geary Avenue will not be closed to vehicle traffic for this year’s festival, but given the major popularity of Geary Art Crawl, we highly recommend accessing the venue by foot or TTC. There is a bicycle parking is available along Geary Avenue, including a corral at 160 Geary Ave.

Mirka Loiselle (also known as PleasurePunk, .arts) is a multidisciplinary artist and arts educator, working primarily in illustration, drawing, and painting media. Their work straddles the boundary between abstraction and illustration, and is firmly rooted in pleasure, curiosity, and a tongue-in-cheek exploration of all the weird and wonderful things our bodies and brains are capable of. With bright colours, bold lines, and a playful flow of intertwined shapes and images, Mirka’s artwork is a celebration of the myriad of ways we express ourselves as embodied beings, and the way that that experience is fostered collectively.

‘Lie Back And Let the World Dissolve Around You’ invites the viewer to lie inside a 4x4ft wooden box hand-painted with intricate and psychedelic artwork on the inside. An LED light strip on the bottom lip of the box illuminates the walls and ceilings. The light slowly shifts colours, moving from red, to green, to blue. Under different coloured lighting, certain colours of the painting fade into the background, and other darken or brighten to stand in sharp contrast. The effect creates a hypnotic and continuously changing viewing experience, as the painting morphs and shifts.
