Dear You,

I hope you’ve been having a good holiday season and are getting some time to reflect on your year and what feels good and what doesn’t in your life. I’m sorry it’s been a little while since I’ve updated you on what I’ve been up to.

I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting over the last few months as to what’s important in life to me. I’ve been thinking about what success means to me, and what sort of measurement I’ve been using to gauge what a “successful” life is. And I’ve come to realize, there’s no universal definition of the word. We all want different things, and strive for different things, and somehow knowing that is beautiful in itself, yet so confusing at the same time.

What I do know for sure, for myself, is that when life feels like a baby hippo is eating at my foot, that in those moments the best thing to do is rest, reflect, and figure out my next move once things feel stable again.

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately reconnecting with the softer parts of myself, because I find right now that this is what helps get me through my days most. This, and supportive community and friends.

The more I grow up, the more I see how important it is to stay soft when life tries to make you hard. And the even tougher part is finding a way to stand up for what you believe in, your values, your truth, your identity, and being firm in that, yet still always open to learning and hearing new perspectives.

Thank you so much for 500 follows on Spotify 💙

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to stream my music since 2016, whether on Spotify or otherwise. I’m grateful to share my music with you as well as my journey.

Doing anything creative always takes a lot of courage and bravery to accomplish, because let’s face it, we don’t always get paid what we deserve when pouring our heart, time, and energy into our art.

I always come back to the question… “why keep making music?” and the answer that follows is always “because I feel it in my veins, and in my heart, that it’s something I’m called to do”

Here’s to more years of releasing tunes and more milestones to come. I’m so grateful you’re here to follow along, and I hope I can make you feel a little more connected to being human, and inspire you to follow your own path as well.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday and the guesses on my age 👾 it seems you haven’t guessed my official age yet - one person came very close though, so I’ve sent them a CD

On another note: I wanted to share this journal entry I wrote with you. I know it seems selfish sometimes when there’s so much going on in the world, but remembering that I’m still here and can make small changes to those in my life and whoever connects with me is what always keeps me going.

We’re in this thing called life together 💙
