It was a great week for the STLLR Gold team at the Canadian Mining Expo in Timmins, Ontario.
We were honoured to receive the Northern Innovator Award in recognition of our Hollinger Tailings Project during this year's Gala. We were also pleased to have our VP of Sustainability provide an update on the project as part of the Projects in the Pipeline session.
Throughout the week, our team had the opportunity to host a booth, participate in the Indigenous Forum, attend the Jackleg Competition, and join the Women in Mining Breakfast.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet with our team, we look forward to continuing these important conversations and partnerships.
Credit card delinquencies just hit their highest level since 2011, while the savings rate has fallen back to just 2.6%.
People are spending more, saving less, and relying increasingly on debt to keep up.
That might keep the economy looking strong on the surface for a while, but it also means consumers are becoming more leveraged and more vulnerable if conditions deteriorate.
What's interesting is that lower savings and higher spending don't just affect households, they feed directly into America's trade deficit. We're consuming more than we're producing, and that imbalance continues to grow.
For now, consumers are still spending.
The question is: how much longer can that continue when savings are shrinking and debt is doing the heavy lifting?
