Natural health products are widely available and come in many different forms.

ISMP Canada received a report from a consumer who almost used a natural health product incorrectly. In response, the manufacturer changed the packaging to ensure the instructions and safety information were made clearer. This single report made a difference!

📦 Quick check before you leave the pharmacy…

❓ some prescriptions are only labelled on the outer box? If the box is thrown out, important details, like the patient's name, and how to use the medication, can be lost.

This is common with items like eye drops, creams, liquids, and inhalers.

✅ What you can do:
Before you leave the pharmacy, ask your pharmacist to put the label directly on the medication container and not just the box.

It’s a small step but an important layer of safety.
