This June 27th I’m pulling on my runners for a 5K run (full disclosure despite an attempt to train, it will likely be more of a walk) through downtown Toronto in support of the Pride & Remembrance Run!

Pride is a celebration of love, authenticity, and belonging, but it’s also a reminder that we must keep standing up for a world where everyone is safe, seen, and included at a time when several countries are pulling back on these rights.

The run raises critical funds for 2SLGBTQ+ programs across the GTA, and I’m proud to be fundraising for this year’s nonprofit beneficiaries: The 519, Casey House, Canvas Programs, and the Pride and Remembrance Foundation.

If you’re able to, it’s fast and easy to donate, and tax receipts will be issued for every donation over $20. Every donation matters, as we try to reach our goal of raising $350,000 this year!

The projects and initiatives that these organizations are developing will make a difference to so many members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and the community would be so grateful for your donation.

Rounded out our trip with a return to Berlin to explore the remains of the Berlin Wall, learn more of the post-WW2 era history, take in a service at the Berliner Dom with its stunning organ, walk through the Hohenzollern Crypt, and then soak in the sun in Tiergarten Park reading and people watching! Flight home tomorrow will be too early even if it’s delayed!

From Wismar to Rostock to Stralsund to Rügen (with an epic bridge ( haha)! Today’s epic journey was a mixture of cities that for 300+ years were part of the Kingdom of Sweden & beautiful nature hikes! We absorbed some of the knowledge from Rostock university - founded in 1419, hiked through the ghost forest along the Baltic coast, explored Stralsund - the oldest city in Pomerania and a founding member of the Hanseatic League, saw sooo many giant cathedrals (need to research why most have astrological clocks behind the altars) and then hiked to the ancient fishing village of Vitt and along the coast to Kap Arkona and an ancient pagan temple that’s being washed out to sea.
