Straight from the spectacular mountains of León, Spain, this exceptional blue cheese is handcrafted in the village of Posada de Valdeón. Made from a rich blend of cow’s and goat’s milk (and sometimes sheep’s milk, depending on the season), it’s matured while wrapped in sycamore maple or chestnut leaves—an age-old tradition that helps create its beautifully creamy texture, earthy aroma, and bold yet balanced flavour with a lingering peppery finish.

León is renowned for its artisanal mountain cheeses and outstanding wines from nearby Bierzo, where elegant Mencía reds perfectly complement the richness of local cheeses. Enjoy Queso de Valdeón the traditional way with rustic bread, quince paste (membrillo), walnuts, and a glass of Mencía or a crisp Spanish cider.
