For those too young to remember, Obama ran on a platform of peace, development, reform, massive change. He delivered war, the greatest upward redistribution of wealth since the Great Depression, deregulation, and violence against protesters. The Obama regime made a generation of little kids in West Asia fear clear blue skies. His presidency led me to reject liberalism and embrace revolutionary socialism.
The two parties may have real differences in policy, but they are bourgeois institutions. Whatever democratic processes they may have internally will be revoked any time the real masters of the parties are threatened, as the 2016 Sanders primary campaign clearly illustrated. The bourgeoisie may have real disagreements between each other, but they're united in the maintenance of their dictatorship.
