A little video of my class last night at Hamsa Dance Studio. We started off with some breathing and stretching exercises. We learned some new moves and combinations to the dhol beat and then brought them into a few songs. The end of the video is the last song we did.
This is an amazing class, students feel joyful, open and rooted. The gentleman that was there was on his 3rd class and hasn't been there in awhile, he told me at the end of the class that the first two classes changed his relationship with the ocean when he surfs. That makes total sense since Punjabi dance and culture is all about water, fluid and powerful.
Hamsa in Ojai will be hosting my mentor Dr. Jasprit Singh every Sunday from 2-4:30 pm for extensive workshops on Bhangra for the next 6 weeks.
