Part 2..
Somewhere between growing up and a new interest, we stopped going. Maybe the movies got worse, or with the advent of streaming platforms, any movie would be on your living room TV in a matter of weeks. No point in lifting the blanket if I have a Netflix subscription. Whatever the reason, we lost another thing that brought us together. Soon, we are outnumbered by things that feed independence and individuality, things that sink us into our singular world. But we are now unplugged, with the understanding that individuality is the default. It's a community we must hold on to. Pour into. Now, without our parents' instructions, we make our own plans, lift the blanket, and go. We buy popcorn, recline the seats, and watch the movie. We create space for discussions, take pictures, and plan something else because there is always something about the race against time, the smell of butter, the chatter in the popcorn line that can’t be replicated. So now we must always go to the movies.
