DEFEND YOUR FAITH

Acts 4:19-20 (NLT)
But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him? We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.”

Peter and John were placed in front of the religious leaders because of the miracles they've done in the name of Jesus. The religious leaders told them to no longer share the Good News that Jesus commanded them to do, for it was against their practices and beliefs (despite knowing of what happened to Jesus and that he was resurrected, for their hearts continued to be hardened to the truth).

However, Peter and John stood firm on their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He has done for them and their salvation and with boldness and with the power of the Holy Spirit, they disagreed with what the leaders told them to do.

We can see that Peter and John were not afraid of them and only feared God. They did not waiver from what God commanded them to do - the Great Commission, spreading the Good News about Jesus Christ.

We must strive to have the same boldness, faith and courage that Peter and John displayed before the religious leaders. For they knew the consequences of going against the world and against the tradition and religion of the world, yet they remained faithful to the Lord.

We must be equipped with the armour of God and filled with the Holy Spirit to stand firm on the Word of God to defend ourselves from the world.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I praise and glorify your name. Lord, for you alone deserve all honour and thanksgiving. You are ruler of the world and of my heart. Lord forgive me. I confess to you all my sins, all my iniquities and transgressions. For only through Jesus Christ, I am forgiven. Continue to cleanse my heart from all my wickedness and the desires of my flesh. Lord I thank you for your Word. Thank you for the Truth. I thank you for your Grace and mercy each and everyday.

Thank you Lord for your faithfulness. Lord I pray for boldness in your Word. Boldness to proclaim and share your Word. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and guard my heart, O Lord, for the things of this world. Help me to obey your Word. For only You are the ruler of my heart. I pray that I become more fearful of You Father, than of the world. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
