Since I was a wee girl in Cerrickfergus, growing up my aunts and uncles would constantly say funny Irish sayings and, of course, after a few drinks, my family would break into O Danny Boy and everyone would cry. But then right back to more drinking and more song. My nana and grandpa lived with us for many years, so I enjoyed most of all eating my nana’s scones, potato bread, lemon butter, wheaten bread and the best of all soda bread. There were many wonderful times growing up with family always around us. This is truly a day to remember. My fav,” May the wind always be at your back”.
